a lot can happen in a year

in one hour it'll be august 13th

this time last year i was driving around my hometown for the last time

eager to leave for the airport at 4am

this time last year i wondered who i would be now

what experiences i would have

i never thought i would be back here

yet somehow i'm happy i am

being excited to experience the things i tried so hard to run from

is almost a cruel joke

this time last year me would be disappointed i'm not packing

to go back like i thought i would be

but she would be so proud of who i am now and who i'm becoming

and where we'll be this time next year
